There are some small trout in the streams, and we found the climate very pleasant. The "Mosquito" parted company here to go to Shanghai with the mails, while we continued our voyage up the sea of Japan with a fair wind, and all sail set. We passed along the coast of the Corea, which very much resembles that of Japan. On August 1st, we anebored iff the Russian settlement in Possiette Bay, which is lat . 42"40, and long . 130"45'E. The harbours is formed by Novgorod Bay , and Expedition Bay, and is a place of great importance and account of its being situated close to the Tummen-Ula river, which forms the boundary between Russia and the Corea.
